This quote speaks to me. As in a stone wall, there is no room for excess or illfitting words in the best of writing. Sometimes we have to adjust the words to better fit them in to place.

No matter how experienced the writer, perfection and human don’t usually go together. Even professional editors and proofreaders can occasionally miss a mistake.
